in and around Zurich

Masoala Halle

Masoala rain forest dome – Zurich Zoo

The Masoala rain forest dome is home to animals which can normally only be found in Madagascar. Although there are over 50 million animals in this hall, most of them are very small and you need a lot of time, and very good eyes, to find these exotic animals.

Another highlight at Zurich's zoo is the new, generously designed elephant home, opened in 2014. It is unique in Europe and offers visitors a unique experience and intimate encounter with these ancient, wise animals.

Near the entrance to the rain forest dome is the "Zoolino", which will be of particular appeal to younger visitors. All animals can be experienced at very close range; pigs, sheep, pygmy goats and other domestic and working animals.

In general, it is worthwhile to visit the whole zoo and its 360 animals. The high number of visitors every year shows how popular it is.

Airport Zurich - observation decks

A day at Zurich Airport offers an array of world-firsts and exciting insights into the complex connections at Zurich Airport. Alternatively, you can take your children on a discovery tour: The SWISS Kid’s Tour includes a colouring book – the "pilot’s case" – with which children can complete twelve exciting stations.
